[Best Buy] ASUS TUF 17.3" Laptop (AMD Ryzen 7 4800H/1TB SSD/16GB RAM/GTX 1660Ti) + AC: Valhalla $1299.99

I've been looking for a decent gaming laptop that's decently priced and this caught my eye. I also like that there's an extra ssd slot. Included ram is 2x8GB.

Good specs. Reviews have mentioned the screen is not the best--not the brightest or the best colours. Individual reviews have mentioned that it's fine for gaming but maybe not for video/image editing.

Plus a bonus of AC: Valhalla right now from most retailers.

It has been restocked on various websites but tends to sell out quickly. Amazon does not mention the AC promo so you may not receive it from there.

I would pay extra for the option of a 2060 (not max q)

I’m kinda open to this configuration. Really nice!

Nice find, not in the market for a gaming laptop but definitely a good price from what I can tell.

Is it for the 15.6 model or the 17.3 model?

It appears there are only 3 left as of 9:49 PM EST. Might be a case of ordering first and returning if the research does not pan out.

Great price based on the spec, definitely worth considering if you are in the market for a 17 inch gaming laptop. The 15 inch model has serious thermal issues from the reviews I saw, not sure about the 17 inch one. The back panel of this 17 one looks to have the same problem with the 15 one with very small air intake, but it's overall dimension is bigger, so hopefully the air flows a little better.

The laptop doesn’t have serious thermal issues, just blown out of proportion by couple of youtubers who thought they are some high level engineers, did some botched up engineering with the honeycomb grill thinking they can cool the laptop better, but ended up boosting overall temperatures of VRAM and SSD.

Unless you are planning to run Benchmark tests on a loop all day, this laptop series is fine. Its selling very well and is always sold out. Also you will hardly find any open box units at Best Buy or any other retailer because returns aren’t that high for this product compared to some other laptops.
If you use it for what its intended for it does a solid job.
