this 4 cores is awful for over 1k.carsncars wrote: ↑ Had this before and returned it.If you're not set on the thinner-than-average form factor this has (for a gaming laptop) there are better options out there. When I was shopping, the Dell G15 with Ryzen 7 5800H was available for similar pricing.
- i7-11370H is only quad-core, which is definitely a bottleneck when it comes to some modern titles
- No webcam (may not matter to some people)

Do you have an idea why only laptops go on sale ? XPS and Lenovo desktops still go for a prime price...

Which one is this? Any link? A laptop with a 5900 cpu? You meant 5900hx, right?

Just checked the specs and it comes with the Asus Dash special -- Other Display Features FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9//144Hz//250nits//NTSC: 45%//anti-glare. If your hoping for a bright screen and colour accuracy suggest you look somewhere else. This is a deal breaker for me, let alone the 4c/8t.
For those who don't mind CC, I would recommend the Gigabyte G5 (not thin and light), still lots of stock across the country. Similar specs, better screen and CPU 11400H (6c/12t).
I personally have the A5 the 5900hx with the 3070 and its a beast, handles all my work needs and beyond. Only draw back is that if your looking for light and portable, this won't be the solution. Here's the A5 @1599.00 if interested

For just video and photo editing you should look at a m1 macbook air.
There was a nice 11800h laptop with a 3060 for $1099 last week that would have been an amazing choice for video editing, but time machine blah blah.
If you use adobe suite then yep it will be decent for photo video editing, but the 4c/8t CPU may hold it back. I'd look for something with intel 11800h so that you can use Gen 4 NVME and Thunderbolt 4.
Depends on what you consider a great deal. What your budget is etc etc.
Back to school, Black Friday, is around when you usually see desktop deals. With Pricing of GPUs coming way down people don't really link pre-builts anymore. You can build your own for less.
If you're looking for Destop deals then they are best when you can stack coupons etc. Like Rakuten 10% cash back and 10% off etc.

or you can just use Memory Express PC Config.

Price out the parts you want, then go to Memory Express and price match your whole build for the best value.

Pretty much sold out though.
