[Best Buy] Audio Technica AT2020 Condenser Mic - Refurbished $79

Important to note its a marketplace seller on BestBuy, however, its the Audio-Technica Canada. Straight from the source

This microphone is a pretty solid to have as a first condenser and a really good price refurbished. Long & Mcquade still price it at $100 used. Brand new its $149.99. Bestbuy lists that the price is til July 1st. This mic is very versatile as it can be used for music production, streaming, voice-over work, or just regular day to day meetings.

I've ordered it and its suppose to come in today. Will upload pictures if anyone is curious, just let me know!

***Note that this microphone needs phantom power and uses XLR cable.***

SM57 is for a completely different use to the AT2020. SM57 and 58 are dynamic mics but this is a condenser mic. I have both and need them both depending on what's being recorded - they are equally fantastic even at full price.

Great price for a great microphone. I would get this if I didnt alrdy get the Behringer XM8500. Still a great deal nevertheless

Manufacturer store though so would probably get some level of support, better than some random refurbisher.

Yup, exactly. The AT2020 is about the bottom of the barrel as far as usable condensers go, but in the right hands (and with the right mic pre) it'll do a decent job.

I have an AT2035 and a yeti.

The AT is far superior, although you probably wouldn't care if you didn't hear recordings from each back to back.

There's a sort of hum and a lack of clarity that you notice on the yeti immediately if you listen back to back.

The sm57 is a staple in the music industry.
The at 2020 is for twitch streamers or YouTubers.

If you rly want a condenser so bad then save up for the rode nt1. The at 2020 isn't that great...

For the price, there's not a better condenser mic made that I know of. Of course, there are much more expensive and better condenser mics out there. I think the AT2020 is great for people starting out.

How much more do you have to invest to actually be able to use it? My mic has been starting to **** up recently so it would be a good timing, but I don't want to have to invest 100$ more to be able to actually make it work
