[Best Buy] August Wi-Fi Smart Lock (Newest Model 4th Gen) $205.98

If anyone is looking for a higher-end smart lock. Check this out!
I don't see this particular model on sale often. I have been on the fence if I should go for a more budget Wyze Smart Lock but in my conclusion, especially when it comes down to something so vital for your home. I would pick (arguably) the best in the business. If your looking at more traditional style smart locks, this is not for you, there no is keypad, you would be better off going for something like a Nest X Yale.

The PRO(bigger unit) is the older model.
The WIFI(smaller unit) is the Newer model. (this deal)

main advantages:
Wi-Fi built-in (no external bridge required like on the pro model)
Nearly 50% smaller, more natural handle vs pro (that thing was the size of a tea cup)

here are some review links:
andriodcentral comparison between wifi(this deal) vs pro model: https://www.androidcentral.com/august-wi-fi-smart-lock-vs-august-smart-lock-pro

I don't think it supports it. The older gen "pro" model does.

The Alexa icon is not on the box. Was Alexa support removed also?

You didn't list the cons. Lol.
I think the wifi range is shorter with this compared to the pro. ,
More expensive lithium battery . Etc.

Hot price if can price match at home depot.

I have one, works just fine with Alexa for basic lock/unlock commands.

To anyone considering: make sure you have really strong wifi signal at your door. A range extender nearby would be best. This lock really doesnt like anything below 80% strength

No I bought the silver one. The photo from another source. Just showing it for the purposes of size comparison.

With the complaints on the WiFi and battery life on the V4, and these recent sales. I wonder if V5 is on its way?

imagine how frustrating a 'smart home' lock is that doesn't work well?

the bad reviews are a non-starter for me. i need the tech to work without issues 100% of the time.

Who knows. They always try firmware updates to address it. The doorbell works a lot better now with firmware update but not great. They had issues with their expensive wireless view doorbell and now they removed them all from their site. I feel burnt as its not supported anymore

This will sound like i'm arguing with you but i'm actually agreeing with you.

My AP shows the connect bridge is constantly between 10% to 50% signal strength only.

It retrofits your existing lock, that remains as is.
