[Best Buy] BBQ - $450 Char-Broil Signature 420 @ BB

I'm looking for a decent BBQ...but not spending $1000

I found this: Char-Broil Signature 420 (Signature Series) w/ free cover
It's $450 @ BestBuy --> most stores selling this unit for $700 (or more....Home Depot seems to have it for $1600 https://www.homedepot.ca/product/char-b ... 1001300590
https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ch ... k/B0012810

...weird thing is BestBuy is selling the unit without the cover for regular price

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ch ... lsrc=aw.ds

The reviews seem really good. It has the "smoker" type of flame blocker ("flavourizer") -(they call it "tru infrared"), but can be removed for no smoke.

I thought I'd ask the "experts" here for their opinion, before I (best) buy!

PS> I did think of the Napolean/Weber lines...just don't want to spend $1000...the $500 is where I'm @! :)
And> Thanks for your thoughts/suggestions! :)

My previous BBQ was a smaller CharBroil. The 'infrared' cooking is really good, no flareups and fairly even heat.

Unfortunately, mine rotted out after a few years and I replaced it with a Napoleon.

You will like this BBQ, but understand these are 'disposable' BBQs.

I'm buying one of these. Ordered this model in April, but the box broke during shipping, never saw it.

The grill system is a step above the competition at this price. And the side burner is a very useful 13k btu

Lowes have the black finish version for $487 pick up only.

Expect to wait 6 weeks with UPS / bestbuy. These all ship from Ontario.

Does anyone know the warranty on these BBQs. I'm seeing conflicting info on different sites. Lowe's says the black one is:

10-YR Burner, 3-YR Grates/Firebox, 1-YR all other parts warranty

I don't see these stats on BestBuy but I could be overlooking it. Also is this a good warranty if it does cover this? I've been debating a Weber but is it worth it if I can get this for such a good price? Any feedback is welcome.

It just a clearance price, I purchased the same BBQ from Amazon back to March 2020, the price was $399.99, I don't think the cover worth $50 anyway.

Do yourself a favour and buy a quality bbq like Weber or Napoleon, even a used one.

I bought a cheap Broilmate and Charbroil that lasted me 10 years altogether; I wanted to buy new parts for a Charbroil but it would have cost me well over $250. I ended up buying a used 10 year old Weber Genesis that is in awesome condition and cooks way better than my previous two bbqs and it will last at least another 10 years.

Thanks OP. I was thinking of splurging on a BBQ and was shopping in the $1000-$1500 range for a bit (Kamado, Weber, Broil King). I could not justify it however as I am not a live or die by the grill person and money is tight all around these days. This seems like a good mid-tier option for those of us who are comfortable with a step above the $200-300 grills. It appears to have solid reviews on BestBuy as well (search for the grill itself). Ordered one.

Anyone tried price matching with Home Depot. That will be really hot at $290 if HD does the PM.

When HD does a pm, they do 10% of their selling price and subtract it from the selling price of the competitor. 10% of 1600 being $160, subtract that from $450.
I have put in a request earlier today to HD for PM by email, lets see how that goes.
