Don't think I could ever go back to 1080P on a gaming monitor.

I have no proof nor examples, but I'm pretty sure that's very average for a 27" 1080p monitor, even with 144 Hz.

95% of gaming is on 1080p monitors though if money is not an issues and you want to do other items with a monitor for sure higher resolution monitors are available.
It all depends what you want to do.
I just think at this price for what you get it’s pretty good value
For example if you are a photographer BenQ has a 32” you can buy for $2500 and it’s on sale too

Haven’t seen any unless they are refurbished or open box. I think Asus had similar at $249.99 for open box last month
Please do share of u see an IPS 1ms 27” for $249 or less

229$ for same specs(ish) posted at the beginning of the week. There has been others too. I still think the monitor you posted is fine for the price. You could definitely do worse.

As I said, I have no concrete examples and I may very well be wrong. I also hadn't considered IPS. In any case, I've already upvoted your post, as it seems to be a decent price for the current market. Just not what I'd consider Winking Face

Not for gaming... That Samsung is 60hz.
For gamers looking for a gaming monitor, all other things being equal, a 1080p panel with 144hz panel is preferred over 4k at 60hz.

If for non-gaming use, or non-competitive casual gaming mixed use, i'd be partial towards the Samsung.

Edit: this deal is for a gaming monitor. If not gaming, then yes, please consider a higher resolution over refresh rate...

Ya, this isn't that high of a refresh rate. Pro gaming monitors moving into the 200 Hz range. This is old tech.

The Samsung is 60hz/75Hz not sure what gaming you want to do with that. Minimum your need 144hz
4K 144hz would be 4 X the price

Yes, but anything >200hz will also cost way more than 249. This is a good budget competitive gaming monitor. Sure, if you only play single player story games get the 4K one instead. Also, this works at 120hz with the new consoles (not all 144hz monitors do).

got excited for a second until i saw it's FHD only. I know my computer can't play recent titles on such a high res, but I also need it for work and FHD is a big no go unfortunately.

Thanks for posting though.

The hyperbole in these types of threads boggles the mind. This is a great monitor for the price. Comparing it to tech that will cost 2-3 as much is just stupid.

I don't dispute this; but the point I was making is that all things equal, 144hz 1080p is superior for gaming than 60hz 4k.
I game on 60hz 4k, and wish I bought a 144hz instead... Would be smoother gameplay.

For what they claim it costs $405,49 it is stealing.
