I need a labler and saw this. I don't know how great it is, but it's almost 40% off.

Not a bad price, it's the tape that costs money, but you can use knock off stuff from Amazon, super cheap.
Every house needs one of these.

Looking for one but the $35 minimum for free shipping kills the deal for me.

You can buy two and then return one to the store.

EVERYONE can use one of these in their house... we bought one for my mother as well. I have one in my shop, simple to label drawers in the parts cabinet, etc.
Buy 2, easy gift.

They go on sale quite regularly on Staples for about the same price with free shipping. Bought one before black friday at staples. Its almost like the new regular price now often in multiple stores or by price match for $20.

What can you do with this that you can't do by just writing with a pen on sticky labels, or paper tape? Wouldn't that be way cheaper and easier? Not to mention easier to write? Thinking Face

Buy one that can print 18mm labels. Some of the cheaper label makers waste a lot of label, unlike there slightly more expensive counterparts. The labels are the expensive part, even with the Amazon and Ebay knockoffs.

Why does thicker label mean less label wasted?

have the exact same model. The only downside I found so far is that it tends to waste tape by not printing close to the edge, so you get this fairly large empty white space before printing actually starts.

Nice deal. A tip for those in the market for a label machine like this one - get one with a QWERTY keyboard. This one does, so you're good. They sell some models where the keyboard layout is just A-Z alphabetically... and those are much slower to use. And if you don't like using a tool, you'll be less likely to.
