[Best Buy] Canon EF-S 18-200, $520, open box

Bestbuy is selling the Canon EF-S 18-200, open box, for $520. This normally goes for $940 brand new so this price is quite good. Bought one as a present for my wife.

OK deal. Check out Kijiji though, this used to be the Canon 60D kit lens. There are frequently very good deals on the 18-200 and 60D body. $600 is a lot for this lens because it is considered mediocre optically. It's not as good as the Nikon 18-200 VR.

I remember a few years ago Best Buy was briefly selling this lens and the 60D body, new in box, for $799.99. Sigh, time machine needed and the camera market has really changed.

I'm pretty sure you can get this lens and a 60D body for $600 cash in the used market. If you don't need it, sell the 60D body for $300 or more. The 60D still should have even much newer Rebel models beat, it's great camera.

The 18-135 IS STM is considered to be much better optically, as is the 55-250 IS STM lens. You can get both of those combined for less than this Bestbuy deal on 18-200.

Yes, I think you are right. Do you where I can get the 18-135 IS STM for a good price?

Kijiji. You will always get a better deal buying a lens / body combo in the resale market. Just resell what you don't need.

Not sure why but Kijiji seems really slow in a lot of tech categories.

I'm watching Canon and Sony lenses just sitting on Kijiji, going lower and lower every week in asking price.

Bookmark this page, the t6s (open box) routinely sells at $899 whenever stock gets to 10, and occasionally sells for $799. You can always sell the body later if it isn't to your liking. I bought mine at $799 specifically because I wanted this lens for a routine walkabout. Also liked the body enough to decide to keep it.

A 1 Year Full International warranty is given by the seller.
Not the best thing if you consider the distance involved but still a good plus if you consider the savings.
