Compare at Canadian Tire for 199.99

And cheaper than earlier this month at Sear's which was 89.99 after 100 off.

Probably the best forged full set you can get at the price.

The amazon one is temporarily OOS but can still be ordered.

I'm in the market for a set. I don't need one urgently. Which of these two should I get, or should I just wait?

on the contrary, are there any advantages to metal handles?

I guess if you left one near a heat source the handle won't melt. (I've had that happen) And aesthetic if you prefer the look. That being said, I own a metal handled knife, a 10" Global chef knife. Though it is professional level and I use it professionally. It has a textured dimpled patter on the metal handle, and it still can be more slippery than my plastic or pakka wood handled knives.
