[Best Buy] Get into the upcoming Battlefield 2042 Beta for Free PS/XBOX/PC

Battlefield 2042 looks like it's going to be one of the top games to launch this year and for anyone looking to get into the beta and are cautious of pre ordering it through the ps store, xbox or steam right now... because you're not sure if you're gonna like it or not... or you just want to try it without being charged right now... this seems like the easiest way to get into the beta.

1. You can Pre Order from Best Buy (they don't charge til it ships)
2. They will email you a code before the beta starts in September
3. If you enjoy it, keep the Pre Order
4. If you don't, just cancel it.

This is what is mentioned from Best Buy*

Online customers: A code will be emailed to you prior to the start of the beta.
In-store customers: Provide your email address at the time of pre-order. A code will be emailed to you prior to the start of the beta.

Xbox Series X: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ba ... x/15547679
Xbox One: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ba ... e/15547682
Playstation 5: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ba ... 5/15547681
Playstation 4: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ba ... 4/15547680

Preordering gives you early access to the beta but there will be an open beta so you don't need to preorder to try the game.

Different is with a battlefield game you know exactly what your going to get. You either like BF or you don't, You can expect a bad launch week, as all online game, although if its proper servers then it should even be good too. BF isn't known for massive bugs, so I don't see much of a problem.

Does pre-order include a working anti-cheat system? BFV was trash after a few months due to cheaters and Dice did sweet F all about it. Disappointed Face

I remember having a blast with the BF3 beta. I'm worried I won't remember to cancel the pre-order though.

What's the procedure for cancelling the pre-order?

Bethesda is literally one of the worst companies for launches, and is known for bugs and a garbage engine... Like yeah the lack of content in 76 sucked, but anyone with any understanding of Bethesda should have known it would have a bad launch and it would be better to wait and see. Battlefield is very basic, you get maps, and you play the maps with the guns, likely with the exact same engine as the previous game, so you know how the game will feel, look etc. Its a very good bet that it'll be a good game if you like the series. There are games that come out where you have no clue how it'll feel, think the new Metroid, who knows how well they get the game mechanics, feel, duration etc. Then there are games where its going to be fine, like Mario Maker 2, where its clearly going to be the 1st game, with the same engine and tiny changes.

Amazon is also an option. That's where I usually pre-order for beta access. Super easy cancellations and if you do forget to cancel, they have easy returns.

ooh game looks sweet. didn't BF4 encountered major bugs which eventually got fixed but nobody could play properly during like the first month. or something like that. been a while since I played any battlefield game.

my only gripe about game is if your whole squad gets wiped out and you have to start at the freaking beginning of the map. it's like waiting for paint to dry running all the way til you get to the middle or the other end of the map.

hmm you seem to forget BF1 and BF5 issues ...
as you can see in these threads, the majority agrees that the last 2 battlefield games were not that great

Disagree. I’ve bought every game since bf3. Will not be preordering after the fiasco of BFV. Launch was absolute crap.

Absolutely agree. BF1 and BFV were horrible games. So much so, that even EA knew it and that's why the went all out on BF2042 to try and save their reputation. But they need to prove it, not just talk it.

No pre-orders!

I remember playing BF3 on Noshahr Canals multiplayer and there were some obvious cheaters who messed around but one time this guy came in and I don't know what kind of hack he had, but he was killing everyone on the map with shotgun slugs from across the other side of the map to the head. You would spawn and then instantly die. Was absolutely nuts. I think he ended the game with like 280 kills and 5 deaths or something like that. Kind of ruined the game for me at that point. I have no clue why people cheat. What kind of fun is that?

When is halo's release date again? Maybe i can use all the codes I won in those contests last year. Isn't that supposed to be one of the biggest games to launch this year?

Streaming games should curb alot of the cheaters but the latency issue needs to be overcome first.
