I wonder if RFD would / can implement a feature that would allow a future sale thread to self-bump to the top on the day of the sale.

Add this https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/lu ... 92581.aspx? $5.29
Then pick your color of the GM and add it to you cart and it will come to $29.99 + $5.29=$35.28
It's $0.28 more but you could get it now instead of waiting.

EDIT: forgot to mention, Free Shipping as well.
wait for FB and buy from staple, you will pay 35$ and get 5$ gift card ...

The problem is, if they only have it in stock.

plus, the coupon might say minimum purchase of $$ amount before tax. :(

Just my 2 cents. Staples $5 off is essentially useless (given lots of coupons available on the thread) and they are acommpanied by minimum spend.

I think this a just a GC and not a coupon so no minimum. Its reflective of Staples in the US where the mini is going for US$25 this BF.

why are you talking about coupon ?
its mentioned in the promotion that it is a gift card , not a coupon...

I have both and I don't see a big difference in sound quality. The best is to use the Google mini and tell it to send the audio signal to a sound system with a Chromecast Audio connected to it. The Chromecast Audio will probably be around $35 this BF and it is much better than any stand alone speaker, let alone the standard Google home.

for someone who has not owned any of these devices, would you recommend Amazon echo dot or the google home mini?

Contemplating on hopping on board with these devices this Black Friday,

Useful for me but I can't complain as I got the two for free.

Definitely not worth paying more than $35 for this.

If you have neither, I'd suggest the Google Mini ... unless you want the audio jack, then you're stuck with the Echo Dot.

I have both, and the Google integrations keep getting better, whereas the Amazon devices are largely stagnant. I am a big fan of the "Home" app versus the Alexa app, ESPECIALLY when it comes to home automation (which is one of the primary 2 features I use my devices for). Also, Google's voice recognition is just better. Audio quality is similar between the 3rd gen Dot and the Mini (Dot sounds arguably better playing music, whereas the Mini definitely sounds better when it is speaking to you).

I'd only get the Alexa if I put a lot of value on shopping (using the device to buy often used items), or if you use Amazon music.

Why on earth would someone buy one of these? All it does is help Google spy on you.
