$699 and I'm in ...

$1,000 seems right for what you get, it is worth it just for the hardware alone. What had kept me from buying one is what happens when I need to replace the battery in 3 years. These and surface devices are pretty much disposable tech.

I love Google's products, but the Pixelbook is definitely a cash grab for die hards. It's a nice device, no doubt, but not worth more than 700-800$.

I'd hold off. The version 2 is coming out in like a week or something. It's already reported on some tech sites that best buys int he states screwed up and shipped the newer model early to some people.

Do you have a link? I haven't heard of a new pixelbook coming out this year.

I thought it was the new HP Chromebook X2 that was shipped early by Best Buy.
