[Best Buy] Hisense 13500 BTU Portable Air Conditioner $499.99

Decent Deal for an air conditioner. Not sure if Costco will have the Danby one on sale before summer.

I wonder which one would be noises, danby 14000, Midea 14000, or this Hisense.

Why are we already at heatwave prices?

This AC unit has only one hose. Much less efficient than the 2 hose Danby.

Based on that alone, would not recommend.

Source: I have used many portable AC units and the difference is night and day. Also, refer to laws of thermodynamics......

Plus also, Best Buy's offer is for a 3 in one.
Leon's model is a one in one. lol
They're the same product. Look at the model numbers. They both have the same BTU/SACC. Best Buy is using the old specifications for determining BTU. The new thing everyone uses now is SACC which is more accurate, so it's 10,000.

Thanks OP. I'm in the market as well. You have just kick-start my research into AC units before summer hits.

agreed. can't compare with the costco danby one.
beware if you get the costco danby shipped, mine arrived damaged (wheel broken etc), so order early to prepare for return/exchanges.

Not to derail but will be in the market to find something before summer. Any recommendations?

Same here. Possibly dual hose and not the Costco Danby one. Had it last year, and first one was leaking, second one had the loud booming noise.

Not sure what's worst Danby's QC or the UPS delivery guys. Had two DOA units last year, not taking any chances with Danby or UPS.

I've been checking Costcos in Vancouver for ACs, nothing in stock, no one knows when they're coming. I'm considering driving down to Bellingham to grab one from Home Depot, apparently even after the exchange and (maybe) getting hit with taxes at the border it's still cheaper.

At this point, if I saw a 2 hose AC I'd buy it. I wouldn't bother waiting for it to drop $50 or complain that it's overpriced, I'm not risking another heat dome.

True that. they said the heatwave might be worst than last year. Saving a few bucks isn't worth the heatstroke.

If you are in BC, you can get this one and do “local pickup”

https://www.ruralenergy.com/air-conditi ... t-portable

They have a bunch in a warehouse in Richmond. I got one and it is great.

it is an American website so it is in USD, but it didn’t end up charging me tax.

Unfortunately pickup is Monday to Friday
