[Best Buy] Home Theatre Seating sale on select models

Best Buy is running a HUGE sale on their home theatre seating with select models.

Save up to $8,750 on select clearance home theatre seating. Ending August 15 looks about 40% off.
Price Range: $399.99 - $12,499.99 (Sale items only)

I'm not familiar with the usual sales or pricings on these things but I seen the thread regarding the Epson 5040UB Projector and thought this would be a cool sale to get your chairs at if you're interested.

It's pretty on par or even slightly worse than their normal "sales" as home theatre seating is usually at least 50%.

Edit: for example, that XS850 4-seater is about $1620 now, but it was $1500 a few months ago.

Which Xs850 are you referring to? I see cheaper than $1620...

Just wondering why pick these ones and not recliner couch from furniture store ? What's the difference?

Yeah these are massively overpriced so 50% off is their regular price.

Our basement stairs have awkward angles so I don't think these recliners would fit.

Although I agree definitely overpriced to begin with, 50% extra off clearance seems decent.

I only see one XS850 4-seater on clearance.

FYI, it changed from 40% off clearance to 50% overnight

The big difference is that each person can get their own seat with arm rests and cup holder (although the armrest might be shared). I vastly prefer a recliner couch - you get more seating space and there isn't a massive divider separating you and your spouse.

I went shopping for a recliner couch and it does not seem any cheaper than the 50% off ones at best buy.

It all depends on how you're planning to use it. If you want furniture that forces you to sit in a single position, buy a reclining chair. If you want something that allows you to lie down or curl up with another person, buy a couch. :)

I intend to buy theatre seating one day for my home, but I've decided instead of waiting on a sale I'll get a part time job at best buy first and then buy it. The discount is better than any sale for stuff like this.

I work there PT and these couches "At cost" aren't anywhere close to as low as the price you're getting for these sales that have 50% off the clearance price.
There is a discount at regular price, but I was looking at these a year ago to upgrade my HT and it wasn't worth it to buy at our discount. Was much better off waiting for a sale like this at BBY or elsewhere

That doesnt make sense though, the discount is Cost +10% isnt it? theyd have to sell at or below cost to be better than the discount.

People have way the wrong impression of the discounts employees get on some things. Certain items are great deals, but many things will be sold 'below cost' and deals will be brokered with manufacturers and bby for money back on units sold or other arrangements that give best buy their profit and no sort of deal for their employees.

Looking at these chairs now while on shift I can say for sure that packages aren't even available as a deal for employees to see what the packaged price is. We'd have to buy the pieces separately, and even at the now discounted 'cost' prices, because they're clearance, it's still a better price to buy it as a consumer.

Legit cost is more for a 4 piece $1300 set not including the +XX% markup I'd have to add.
