Link in OP doesn't work. I've added one in thread summary. Anyone recommend this for occasional home use?

This is a monochrome printer if it matters. Seems a bit pricey for b/w only. Some color models from Brother and Canon don't seem to cost much more and have the same features + color.

Did some googling, but my google-fu might have failed me this time.

I like Brother machines. What's available from them with similar specs?

I'm after the following:
40ppm black.
quick first page.
80,000 pages per month (though I don't print that much...I like to think of this as a reliability measure of sort).
duplex print and scan.

Correct link: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B013SKICA8/

Specs: https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-laser ... fp-m426fdw

Monthly duty cycle: Up to 80,000 pages
Quite a few units at this price point has the same duplex printing + duplex scanning. For example, if this comes back in stock: https://www.staples.ca/en/Canon-imageCL ... CA_1_20001

That one regularly goes on sale below $300.

I would say this one: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/br ... 41313.aspx?

then price match at Staples and apply a staples coupon. Maybe $350 ish. Otherwise, wait for another sale on the Canon MF634CDW?

Thanks. PPM is pretty low (I'm impatient as hell), and monthly duty cycle seems to be on the low end. I guess that's a starting point, and price goes up from there. Would love to add some colours to my office.

Looks like your requirements will push you into another price bracket for color, or something like this one for black and white. Personally, I have the Canon ImageClass MF8580Cdw and it's an absolute workhorse. I don't think I would be able to do without some form of color output. I don't print nearly as much as I used to, and my toner seem to last forever... have not replaced in the past 5 years.
