[Best Buy] Insignia 22" 1080p HD LED TV (NS-22D510NA19), $99, FS

Was looking for a cheap monitor and found this.

Price, size and resolution seems to be right to me. Reviews are good too 4.7 (1012 reviews)

1080P 6.5ms 60Hz.

No VGA connector though. Only 2 HDMI 1.4 and 1 USB 2.0.

Batteries are included for remote control.

I got one during the last sale to try to use as a monitor but found it too blurry and returned it.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it as a tv or as a screen to monitor a cctv setup though.

I paid 79 a few weeks ago. Works well with my Fire TV stick! Very happy!

I bought this when it was $79 last month and it made it horrible monitor and I ended up returning it. The colours and the sharpness was terrible and distracting I played around with the settings as much as I could until I gave up and returned it.

Can this show images and video if I was to play stuff of a usb drive? If so, what formats does it support? (ie. .mp4, .mkv, .jpg/.gif, etc etc etc)

If you're interested in a small project, I've been taking monitors like these and turning them into video displays by buying a Raspberry Pi Zero and then mounting them on the back (I use a 3D printed mount for the VESA holes, but before that, just velcro lol). Power it from the USB port on the TV, and then I set up the Pi so that it automatically starts playing all the .mp4 video files found on any USB stick plugged into the Pi.

Made these for two non-profits. All they do is plug in the TV and turn it on, and content starts playing.

Not great as a monitor but a decent tv with the fire stick.

To be frank, TVs generally don't make good monitors. They often apply image adjustments, sharpening, etc.
