[Best Buy] Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop - Grey (Intel Core i5-1035G1/256GB SSD/12GB RAM/Windows 10 S) $699.99

Enjoy powerful performance and sleek entertainment with the Lenovo IdeaPad 3. Powered by an Intel Core i5 processor with 12GB of RAM, it can easily handle multi-tasking, CPU-intensive applications, and just about everything else. Its 15" HD touchscreen and Dolby Audio offer amazing visuals and top-notch sound quality.
CPU isn't as powerful as ryzen 5 4500u but it has more RAM (was told 12GB may not be a good idea and power would not somehow limited tho)

Enjoy

I got an Inspiron 3800 desktop from Dell.ca with i3-10100 (4cores & 8 threads) which has a PassMark score of 9,000 that is on par with an i7 from three years ago, also comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD for $350+tx. Panning to use this exclusively for work (heavy excel, browsing, multitasking and dual monitor). Do you think it can get better than this? Like paying $400-$500 for double RAM, double SSD and i5 on boxing day?

I bought last year's version for my son for university. It's not too bad - relatively zippy - but over the past year the trackpad has been inconsistent (so much so that he uses a wireless mouse instead now), and this past week, the charger that goes with it failed for the second time (inconvenient when you have an essay due the next day lol).

Still good value for the relatively low price, and maybe its just him being rougher than most with it. But in my humble opinion it isn't built to take a bit of wear and tear and travelling around like a Thinkpad or something, but that's 3x the price. May be more suited for someone who just parks it on their desk and doesn't move it, but that defeats the purpose of a laptop lol
