[Best Buy] Lenovo Tab E10 10.1" 16GB/2GB Android Oreo Tablet $99

Best Buy has these Lenovo E10 10" Tablets for $99 online and in store until Sunday 10/27.

Comments are kind of mixed and I doubt that it will be very fast, but it might be good for basic use, kids school tab etc.
I would give my life to protect your right to say something really funking stupid.

Respect your OP's. They don't get paid to do this, and don't have to come here to post their deals for you. They can all just hoard their deals in silence, if you prefer?

That tab uses Snapdragon 210, an entry level processor from 2015.
I doubt even basic web browsing can be smooth.

I have the 1GB version of this tablet w/o Oreo (Masrhmallow? 6.0?) and it is in use it everyday for media consumption (Netflix, Bell Fibe app, Cinema, VLC streaming, etc), as well as some light browsing (RFD, CBC..). I wouldn't call it quick and don't dare try to swap apps, but once an app is loaded up (Netflix, Chrome) it's more than usable. I definitely don't feel like I need to throw it across the room due to frustration.

I did jump on the $99US deal for the SD625/1080/2Gb/LTE version and folks in that thread said how slow it would be, but if I can handle using a SD210 w/1GB I think the new one will feel fairly snappy. ;)

I was just going to say. This thing works well for media consumption. It's a bigger tablet screen for $100, you can't go wrong if you need something to watch.

With this running Oreo, that's pretty good.
Could be used as a surveillance camera monitor, better than the no name brands.

Does anyone know if this tablet is faster than the Yoga Tab 3?

https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/tablets/an ... ZITZTBYT2F
Quad Core™ 1.3GHz (Qualcomm® APQ8009)
2.0GB LPDDR3
16GB eMMC

I bought the Tab 3 and it came out to $160 after taxes. It's definitely NOT fast, but I just use it for youtube and netflix and it's quite handy to have it. I was just wondering if this tablet is an upgrade or if it's about the same, if so, I can still return the yoga as this one is about $50 cheaper.

Did a quick check. APQ8009 is also called Snapdragon 212. Snapdragon 210 and 212 are same generation processors - 212 has a higher frequency (1300Hz) than 210 (1100Hz), not sure how this translates into performance, but I am sure there won't be much difference

Thanks for checking, I really appreciate that. I think i'll just try out this bestbuy deal then.

If it's just as good, i'd rather save $50!

Thanks

I have this one and used it for social media, forums apps, youtube and it's fine. I got one before for $124 at lenovo, it's pretty good deal for $100 compared to other tablet on the same price so I got another one for my kid

I just went to Bestbuy and tried out the Tab 10 for $99 and it's painfully slow. I have the yoga tab 3 10 and while ToonTyler did some research on the generation, my yoga tab 3 10 is noticeably faster (still not that fast) and the speakers on the yoga tab 3 10 is much much better.

the Fire 10 is definitely faster. It is significant. You can just tell the UI is more optimized. If the Fire 10 was on sale for $99 I would definitely consider it, It seems like it'll get that low during either black friday or boxing day.

I would not buy this Tab 10. My main purpose is using it for the plane or at home for youtube, netflix, and light browsing. The browsing was really slow. Obviously, you're not expecting much for $100, but at this price point I would rather get the Fire 10 when it goes on sale. I hope this helps some of you that are on the fence.

If you absolutely need a tablet now, I guess this would suffice, because once netflix is running it's fine, but even with youtube having to search and browse it's noticeable how slow it is.

Thanks though OP.

That tablet is using 5-year-old hardware, and it had entry level specs 5 years ago - you're better off with a new Amazon Fire 10" if you want something extremely basic.

It's like a car .... make sure you don't try a faster/better one and you will be happier with this ;)

SD 2xx / 2GB / 16GB is yesterday's technologies ... It's usable as long as you are not greedy and not trying to do too many thing at the same time. For example, a friend of mine uses her low-end tablet as an e-book reader and nothing else. It works fine with her. Make sure you close the apps regularly.

Since it appears it has no microSD slot, It might be a bit limited to use as a picture frame ... unless you configure it to play it off your NAS or something ....

But if your budget allows, get something better.

I have this tablet and posted a thread about it a while back
lenovo-canada-tab-e10-16gb-2gb-ram-10-123-88-2254981/

Its a decent tablet, for the price.
In the tablet world the more you spend the better specs you will get.
So if your budget is as low as possible but not garbage then this will do fine.

Don't expect games to work well, the processor is low end.
At 20% brightness (adequate) and watching media, internet browsing, music, flyers and such low intensity usage expect about 6 hours of life on a full charge.

It does not get Pie. Bear this in mind.
In fact in Rand McNally they wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people
