[Best Buy] LG 29" 29UM59-P Ultrawide FHD 5ms GTG IPS LED FreeSync Gaming Monitor $279.99

Good deal on an entry level ultra wide monitor.

Make your favourite movies and game more immerse with this 29" LG UltraWide gaming monitor. With a 21:9 aspect ratio, this ultrawide monitor provides 2.4x the digital real estate of a conventional 16:9 monitor. It also has a 5ms response time, Game Mode, Screen Split, and 2 HDMI inputs so you can hook up multiple devices with ease.

Reviews online look decent. How does this compare to a triple monitor setup?

I think this was $249 a few weeks ago

I have this monitor, can confirm, it's a very solid LG IPS panel. It has some issues with refresh rate and very close shades when the built in contrast booster is turned on, but other than that, great.

I would say these are closer to having dual 4:3 monitors side by side than 16:9.

You know, i'm beginning to regret buying a Freesync monitor.

Anything worth upgrading to (Vega 56 or Vega 64) is ridiculously overpriced right now due to the stupid mining craze. Keep that in mind.

Yep it was 249$ just before holidays, but still at 279$ it's a good warm deal. Very nice looking 29" with gaming capability (75hz Freesync) on the cheap. I "sidegraded" my Dell Ultrasharp U2913WM with this instead and it's much better for gaming.

Gotta love monitors that add in 'gaming' despite not being 144hz. If anyone is actually looking at this monitor for the purpose of solely gaming look elsewhere, all the other specs look great though.

Then again you won't find many decent monitors at this price point that actually are 144hz without sacrificing screen size and most likely a TN panel.

I'm assuming this would be better for FPS games vs games like LOL? I never play FPS, mainly LOL and HoS, would it look weird or hard to adapt to?

I use this monitor for LoL and it's GREAT. The 21:9 ultrawide view is supported and I feel like it actually gives you an advantage. I also play PUBG on it flawlessly. Can't go wrong with it

I have the 25" version of this monitor. Its very nice. This one should be around the height of a 23" 16:9 monitor as I recall but obviously much much wider.

This is confusing...specs are unclear as if this really is gaming monitor or made for professional desktop use?
Also I only see one HDMI port on the LG website, two on Bestbuy's another retailer is indicating one HDMI, one display port?
Also is there software for splitting the screen (PIP) for this model?

Looks like the actual LG monitor pictured and description are pulled for LG's website for the 29UM59-P professional monitor as another customer points this out in the comment section below the product.
The monitor I believe is actually the LG 29UM58-P (different base, not curved like in the pictures) and IS a gaming monitor, maybe someone who owns this can clarify for us here?
