[Best Buy] LG NanoCell 75" 4K UHD TV (75NANO80) $1,499.99

I am not sure about it being $1K off, but I think it's still a good deal for the size and quality of the TV. I'd get it if I was in a market for one.

It's a 60Hz panel so it's probably not great for watching sports, but casual watchers would appreciate the value.

Those aren't true 120Hz panels.

Samsung's RU9000 has a true 120hz panel, doesn't it?

The 49" Nanocell 2020 has HDMI 2.1 on two ports. Has anyone used that with the PS5 or Xbox Series X yet? How was your experience?

To clear things up a bit...

This is the UN80, which features a 60Hz panel.

Some models feature true 120 Hz panels. For example the UN85 series. Costco does have some of these.

I have the 49"NANO85 (at the 48"-50" range, basically the only 2 options were this TV or the LGCX which is way out of my price range). The TV itself when calibrated looks amazing at 4K 120hz on the series X. The only thing that's not great about it is the local dimming. If you're watching a movie or video that's letterboxed the top and bottom of the screen, the letter boxing will light up and dim. When gaming, it isn't noticable

Thanks for this. I have the same dilemma. CX would be it for me but that price lol. The next would be the x900h but that one has the HDMI 2.1 blur issue which is still up in the air. The last option was this 49” nanocell which I saw was on sale this week at Best Buy for $799.

Did you use a guide to calibrate it? Any other issues besides the local dimming? (which doesnt seem to matter if Im gaming on it only). Also did you need to do anything to get the 120fps/120hz going or was it plug and play?

Narrowed down my search for 75 inch to these three:
Samsung 75RU9000
LG NanoCell 75NANO80
Sony XBR75X800H

Any recommendations?

RU9000 is the only one of the 3 with a 120hz (no HDMI 2.1) and variable refresh rate for gaming. It's not a quantum colour based TV like the other 2 but according to rtings still has a higher colour gamut. The sony and LG both are 60hz with IPS panels for wider viewing angles and are capable of playing dolby vision content. The LG has the magic remote as well handles reflections slightly better than the sony and thinner bezels, but Sony is android based so it will have more features and apps if you want to explore side loading apps. In short, get the samsung if you mostly game on the TV. If you don't game, and only use the most popular streaming apps, the LG is probably the best option with its magic remote convenience, unless you really want an android based system. But if you game a lot and want to take full advantage of HDMI2.1 for the new consoles and dolby vision for movies, spend the extra money for a 75" X900H. It's pretty much the best value TV with the most features.

I watch a lot of sports and also watch lower resolution content so the 120hz panel and seemingly better upscaling of Samsung would steer me towards that. X900H is a great choice if you can afford it.
