bestbuy 'grand opening' sale from oct 25-27

koodo has samsung galaxy a50 for $0 on med tab with $250 gift card

i know everyone hates koodo but i think its better than telus and their 'bring it back' program adding another $30-50/month to a $90 plan

$000

When they changed their tab to the same reasonable tab system every other Canadian carrier has, without exploitable loopholes for RFDers, we turned on them.

So what happens if i buy this phone on the medium tab, and i decide within the 2 years that i want to pay off my tab and just go back to paying my regular plan bill total?

Nothing happens, unless you try to upgrade again in that 2 year span. In the case of upgrading to a new phone or cancelling your sub, you have to pay back any activation discounts you received. In the case of the A50, the phone credit is $80 on medium tab. So if you decided to leave early you would end up paying $360 (med tab) + $80(credit) + tax. They can't claw back your gift card though so you get to keep that.

The credit of $80 isn't bad like some other phones but I think it would still be wise to wait until BF and BD before getting locked in for 2 years. This price point with the A70 or the A50 with free buds would be nice.

I know there's no working time machine, but this deal is terrible compared to previous offers. Four months ago under the old terms, this phone came with $300 PCO points, $100 bill credit, $360 for phone on either small or medium tab from TMS. Even under strict terms with claw back they still charge more. Makes no sense. This is new activation only, so you need to get a terribly priced plan to get the deal. Back then, TMS had a $25 plan that qualified for the deal. BTW, Samsung site says phone is $399. Nice of Koodo to assess the phone at higher than MSRP so they can max the claw back.

It says 2 Special Offers Available. Does this means, it would be $250 + $100 = $350 GC or it would be one or the other?

My guess is, it's $250 GC for new activation and $100 for renewal.

no its not and yes there is no time machine so theres no point in bringing up old deals get over it already

like i said its better than the telus contracts - same phone is + $17.50/month with no gift card

or look at their 'bring it back' plans - iphone 11 pay $30.96/month for 24 months = $743 and GIVE THE PHONE BACK

Thanks OP, I'll be picking one up tomorrow. Has anyone been able to convert the BB GC to visa?

Also, how do people like Samsung's new One UI? I was going to go with the Oneplus but it's $300 more.
