That's a terrible deal. They were $210+$35 connection fee brand new on boxing week. I'm sure after the s10 phones are released there's gonna be great deals again. I'd wait and see what happens later this month
more like 443-150 visa cc - 50 trade in for pos phone, in accessories at WOW during boxing week/after

Yea true there are probably better deals to be had. I think I would be happy to pay $0 upfront and then $360 on a medium tab.

No they weren't. They were $360 + $35 activation fee + $150 BB GC ($150 CC if from WOW) which also has an activation fee if used to get a CC. So even if you don't count the CC activation fee, that's $227.26 ($256.80 after tax) + $35 activation fee and not $210 if you're going to count the GC towards the phone's cost (this is for 13% tax but you're listed as AB so your tax will be different). The point is, you can't just not account for tax and directly subtract the GC's amount.

Buy visa gc and pay it off with that...
Ok so definitely not directly...

But don't most stores have a policy you can't buy gc with gc? (including visa prepaid)

Not a big deal when we are talking 100s in savings. Also in both the cases, you'll be paying same tax % (and tax on medium tab which applies in both cases) and it's kinda inevitable. There's also gonna be usage fee depending on when you cancel but that's up to the individual if he/she wants to cancel right away, after a few days or after 3 months.

ps. there was no activation fee on some days as a limited time offer

Ask for the bell SIM card number from the eBay seller.
You dont need to call bell, you can do it online. No you dont need to load any money.
Once you port to bell it automatically cancels the Koodo
Ok so if i do it online, definitely need to create a Bell account. After porting to Bell, what do you do with the Bell prepaid account, just leave it to automatically die off, or cancel it?

It works fine. Read the back of your Gift Card for what's not allowed or exempt. Seen many people purchase Visa PP's with their BB Gift Cards, and I recently purchased a Visa prepaid with my 150$ Walmart GC.

Thanks for confirming. Like Shoppers Drug Mart will turn you down if you try to use a SDM gc to buy a Visa/MC prepaid...

So the S8 is a great phone, no question, but I don't like the pump and dump strategies employed here. It's playing games with your credit. I also don't like the 'let it die' strategy, as it sounds like another scheme to minorly screw over your credit.

Do you folks not want to build your income generating asset base? It often takes good credit, so be reasonable.

I really don't understand why anyone would do that. You do buy things like tooth paste, toilet paper and tonnes of other things you don't eat. I get that some people won't buy their groceries from Walmart but Walmart majority of time is cheapest for pretty much everything and on top of that you can PM. WM GCs are pretty much money back in your pocket.

Koodo is using exactly that so this deep discounts don't get abused. Otherwise you'll see people buying 100s of phones and selling them internationally coz no other company offers prices this low.

It's not about you not liking it. Koodo don't want you to sign up just to get the phone. Making people jump through hoops is their way of avoiding those kinds of customers because many times they loose money, especially when you start seeing phones for $0 small tab with $300 GC.

I agree, but I'm finding you and I engage in adversarial agreement... a strange dance. That signature is a good tip-off.

S9 is now $150 on the med tab

$150+360=$510

Not bad... buy now or wait for a better deal?
If you were to buy it now, get it on tab large 0$ +480 tab and you get 100$ gift card.
