I would have a conversation with Koodo over it, it makes no sense for you to be blacklisted when you've only purchased/cancelled your phone once.
Ya sounds fishy. I’ve flipped more in only one month. Gotta be bad credit or something

So s9 basic on a medium tab - 200 GC?
Are the gift cards only best buy or regular prepaid ones
As if BB is going to give you a prepaid card to go spend money elsewhere. I highly doubt that.

Would upgrading end my old $55/5GB SK plan that I got ages ago?
This really is kinda tempting...

I don't know the answer. Sorry for quoting, forgot this is an "SK" plan.

On medium tab you would be fine ($50 min), on Tab L minimum is $80 now so in that case, no.
He's on an out of province plan (SK) and asking if he upgrades will he be forced to an in market/province plan.

In my experience as a phone rep (albeit, this is years ago now) the system prompts you to offer a customer an in-market plan but as long as the value is compatible with the tab being chosen then you can choose to stick with the old plan.

The biggest risk you run is with the employee. Either they tell you they won't do the sale unless you switch or they try to report you to Koodo. I don't know if anyone cares about their phone sales job that much but you never know.

If i pop my sim card from my old phone into the new koodo phone does that effectively cancel the plan and they send you the final bill? Or do i have to call them to cancel? Thanks

No. That just means that your new Koodo phone will be using the network associated with your existing SIM. Call to cancel or port out to another carrier.

Thanks the OP zerallamvuutto and all who have provided info and answers.

I was able to pick up an S9+ for $0 down & Large Tab $480 balance. Plus a $100 GC. Nice!

Also called Koodo directly about what they could offer. My current plan is a $48 - 5GB plan I've had for about 5 years. After some negotiating was able to lower my monthly bill to $45 & add an add'l 1GB.

No, it's not either of the $35/5GB, $40/8GB or $49/8GB but being in Ontario I'll call it a win anyway.
