Nintendo had a production issue resulting in a lack of New 3DS XL units over the last two months. Looks like they resolved their issue.

I still see these around and believe they are still being produced, unlike the Wii U.

The prices on these are pretty inflated considering the hardware inside.

Limited? How could something be limited when they sold millions upon millions of it?
A life spent making mistakes is not only more memorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.

Whaou! 240$ !
This is expensive!!
I maybe out of subject, but think I'd rather buy a iPod or an Android phone for my kids with this price.

Op, you have my vote anyway, I'm glad there are RFDers posting deals.

A little, but not drastically. There are faster devices but the 3d screen can't be cheap to make. The software lineup on the system is amazing and it's so easy to install cfw at the moment.

remember don t upgrade the software version to 11.13 because cfw will not work anymore. Time to get one right now for cfw before all new shipment 3ds comes with latest firmware 11.3 ( still not hackable)

The issue is Nintendo's supply chain strategy. They under-produce hardware only to what they can sell-through to distributors. This is to prevent having to pay for warehousing, and also spending their cash flow without flipping the goods for a profit. So their hardware is frequently unavailable.

As stated in my original post. I did mention this wasn't a deal. I only mentioned that there wasn't alot of inventory recently... months to be exact. I only posted this to help those who were looking for this model that wasnt able to get one.

It's also mentioned in another thread as well for a different version, that the stock of 3ds XL model has been extremely limited in recent months.
the limited edition pikachu version:

Inspite of the upvotes. Guess you can't please everyone.

yeah, agreed no hack for 11.3, with 11.2 (which is what you can find these days unless you get really lucky and get 10.x) you can only have homebrew, to downgrade (more possibilities) you'd need a hardware mod anyway.

I'm pretty sure you can get a9lh onto any 11.2 or earlier device now, and the sky's the limit at that point.

Having said that - better deal is to get one from The Source - with the $25 newsletter coupon. I actually just ordered one today.

Only Nintendo fans would post in a hot deals forum, consider this a deal (when it's regular price) and call something limited.

They've been selling better than expected lately thanks to Pokemon and cfw. They've actually been hard to find for this past while.
