Dang, was hoping for product red on sale. Then again, have to double check what it actually looks like since they tinker with it a lot.

I've purchased from Aliexpress and honestly, they're pretty decent. Only issue for the solo loop variants is they can be a bit more finicky on measurements.

Should I get the series 6 or wait for the 7?

The series 7 will be coming out in less than two months, it doesn't make sense to pay full price for a piece of tech that will be discounted once the new version comes out, and heavily discounted come Black Friday.

Pretty sparse selection and I'm not really much of a fan of the sport band

Unless you have a pressing need, wait for sure. The price will be similar but you'll get the newest watch. Then for a whole year you'll enjoy knowing that yours is the latest and greatest model.

If the 6 does everything you need then get it. The 7 will be better in some manner but that doesn’t matter if the 6 is good enough. Like the Pro phones are technically better if you just consider them having a third camera lens but two lenses are good enough for me. Really, it depends on what you want the device to do.

I got the 6 over the SE mainly for the Always on Display. Seems like a lot more to pay for that one feature but I already have a blank screen I need to wake up for information in my phone. But that’s me.

People usually dont change their watch as often as their phone. So since there will probably be a new form factor in a couple of months you should wait so you dont look like you are using an outdated watch for the next 5 years.

Depends what the new design looks like. The previous 6 versions of the Apple Watch look almost the same unless you're into "Apple", I don't they'll change the design much as it'll have to fit their bands.

Hell Apple still sells the series 3 on their website which can barely update to the newest version of watchOS without jumping through hoops.

Just try out a few different ones instead of putting all your eggs in one basket. You don't get a discount on buying more from 1 anyways. I have 16 bands with different sellers and only 2 of them have broke after a few years. I didn't go with different sellers on purpose though, I did so because I'm cheap and wanted to make sure every band was the absolute cheapest even if only by 1 cent.

This year's is supposed to be a significant redesign and flat instead of rounded sides. So even someone not into apple could easily notice.

In my experience the Ali bands .. you get what you pay for.. if you are paying for a 400 ish watch not worth cheaping out on the band

honestly don't, pure garbage quality, official apple branded ones are of much higher quality that you actually wanna wear everyday. I'm so done buying from eBay and Aliexpress. I tried em and was just a waste of money.

This. Tried a couple cheap bands and told myself never again, I rather save up and get an official apple one, lasts a long time and you actually want to wear it everyday. Quality is big when you're wearing something all day. These third party ones from eBay, Ali express and even one I got off amazon third party were pure garbage. Could have used the money for a good one.

+1 to Apple bands being noticeably better quality than the junk on Aliexpress/Amazon/eBay. I gave up and just buy the apple ones even though they're more money. I've been wearing the Milanese Loop band since my Series 0 watch and its still in great condition and after a cleaning looks like new. I've seen my friends with the knockoff ones and its a huge difference in quality and comfort. I initially figured "they're made in the same factories" but honestly after trying them back to back there is a difference.

If you're the type that likes to match their band to their outfit I can see the appeal of the cheap ones, but if you wear the same band every day would recommend spending the premium on the Apple ones. YMMV.

We will see I guess, they can't change the shape significantly due to the band connections, so I imagine even a "significant redesign" won't be obvious from a distance like iPhones. Most likely it'll be new shades of metal and a screen that goes closer to the edges. Maybe the top edge will be more square, but I hope not as that'll just lead it to catches on edges/chipping easier.

Bought pink citrus last week and ended up returning. Limited selection but still good if you like the colour.

Better to invest in quality and a few you like vs a ton of crappy bands.
