It's speed is 11641 compared to the 15150 of the original i7 being promoted here. (Benchmarks)

How does it compare to the regular i5 8400?

Great deal but my local BB always have some open box laptops in a cage turned on, no screensaver, just showing the desktop, from open till close. And who knows, maybe they were left on overnight too as if it's not open box enough <smh> Hope you don't get one of those.

Not a good deal.
You can get a 4k 28 inch screen 60hz for $350 on amazon for your occasional work and also enjoy 4k movies on it.
