[Best Buy] Polk RC60i speakers PM with Amazon.ca YMMV

Deal Link:
Price:
80.99
Here's a deal on a pair of Polk Audio RC60i 6.5" In-Ceiling Speakers. Priced will be $80.99 at Best Buy if you can get them to price match Amazon.ca -- I was able to and purchased in-store. You can try online and get free delivery?

Polk Audio RC60i 2-Way In-Ceiling Speakers (Pair, White) currently at $109.99 Ships from and sold by Amazon.ca

https://www.amazon.ca/Polk-Audio-RC60i- ... dpSrc=srch

Price match at Best Buy, who has it at an insane price of $399.99. There will be a huge price difference and that is where you will find all your savings.

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/po ... 43776.aspx?

399.99-109.99=290.00 price difference * 10% = 29.00
109.99-29.00= 80.99 price after PM - 10% price difference

You pay $80.99 before taxes and extra fees

Price on Amazon.ca will probably change to higher if people start to buy them there. These have been as low at $99 at Amazon.ca (according to a thread in November 2017).

Not much of any problems today. Had to go to 3 stores to get everything; picked up 5 sets (Landsdown/Richmond, Marine Drive/Vancouver and Cambie/Vancouver). Stores only had 1 or 2 sets in stock. Need the speakers for an upcoming project. Had to only enforce the 10% price beat at the Cambie store as they initially didn't do the correct calculation. The Richmond store salesguy let me off with $80.00 (extra 99 cents off -- I didn't want to correct his maths).

I'm envious of the US best buy that occasionally has the polk VT60 aka V60 for 60$ USD ea, a real nice upgrade to the MCs
The Gibby's version is $58 sold single but both have pretty similar specs
With time, everything will go on sale...

I got the MC85 and MC80s, they're good enough for surround sound, very happy with them. Installation and quality is also much easier than el cheapo Monoprice and similar speakers.

Great looking deal. I wish I could jump on this. I'm planning to put some in ceilings on our main floor throughout the kitchen/family room for ambient music and these look perfect. Unfortunately at this time I can't justify spending the money on 6 of them. Arg. Thanks for posting though!

It always was. Re-read the original post. He posted the Amazon deal to use as a PM at Best Buy.

Was able to Price match, but had to argue a bit. BB's cost price is 139.99 on the speakers. At first they said yes, then manager came back and said no, I as a manager have the right to refuse any price match especially if its below our cost. I simply said no problems, can you please show me in writing, after 10 minutes, another guy came with "passwords" and adjusted prices.

I bought 2 pairs of these speakers from Amazon for $99.12. I can't remember if they were Warehouse deals or not. I use them for music only on our main floor.

After humming and hawing over buying other speakers around the $400/pair mark (monitor audio, b&w) I decided on the rc60i's and honestly they sound great. You have to realize that it's very difficult to expect audiophile quality from almost any ceiling speakers. So spending $100/pair or $400/pair the difference is negligible.

I had a similiar experience yesterday.

I've been eyeing these on amazon for a while now. I think even at regular price of $130 they are a decent deal. I have no idea why BB is trying to sell them at $399.

I headed to the BB in Nepean after reserving online. They fought me tooth and nail. First they claimed it was an amazon 3rd party. After some coaxing they realized it was a prime deal. Then they claimed I can only price match on one item (I was buying 2). I asked to see that in the policy. Guy comes up empty handed after disappearing for 5 minutes then claims they changed the policy recently and I can have both items. Next they wring up the total and price match only. I had to remind them of their own 10% policy. In the end I got them paying a total of $188 for the 2 pairs.

So beware of trying to price match at BB.

Had no problems PMing at BB yesterday. Had three employees gather at the register but turns out they were just impressed at the PM; all of them commented on what a great deal it is. Of course, the price at BB is grossly inflated...

Thanks OP!
