[Best Buy] Ricardo Beverly Hills Burbank 3-Piece Hard Side 4-Wheeled Expandable Luggage Set - Silver - $108

Found this set of luggage for quite decent price of $107.98 plus taxes. It might be be a Samsonite but I think for something close to just $100 is not bad.

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ri ... 23765.aspx?

Price is $179.98 but Best Buy clearance takes an additional 40% off when added to cart so total should be $107.98 plus taxes.

Thanks OP.

Was looking at this before when it was $299.99 - 40%.

Now it's a no brainer for $120 tax for 3 piece hard luggage.

Price is really good for the set. But be aware that the material is ABS and not 100% polycarbonate. At least that's what the specifications say on the BB site.

"ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) is a common thermoplastic. ABS is lighter than polycarbonate but not as durable. It is also the cheapest hard material, meaning it is popular in the cheaper hard-sided luggage ranges. An important benefit of polycarbonate as luggage material is how impact resistant it is. Upon impact, the material flexes to absorb the impact and then flexes back to its original shape, making polycarbonate luggage extremely resilient to rough handling."

The sets that were available in Costco just a few days back were 100% polycarbonate.

How much were the sets at costco? I mean, for $120 for 3 pieces. I understand the biggest one will take the most beating in an airport by their staff, but the carry on should last

$140 for a 2-piece set and 100% polycarbonate.

That's why I said that the BB price is really good. But I just wanted people to be aware that this is ABS and not polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is scratch resistant but more expensive.

Wheels are important, not all spinners are made the same. How are these? Need something for a upcoming trip.

Agree with you - I find wheels always fail before the build material. From the pictures on BB site, the ABS looks durable enough for everyday travel.

not just the failing, but actual quality of the wheels in terms of how well they roll on different surfaces. we have two bags. one being a american tourister that was just purchased. (It's poly) and the other some random bag. Random bag doesn't roll well with say duffel bag on top, or over european cobblestones. Where the american tourister rolls along just fine.

Good price but I stay away from the hard-sided luggage because I find once they get a few scratches they look like crap. You can buy similar sets at Costco for under $200.

Zipties rfd says.

If airport security needs to go through your luggage, they'll cut locks off if it's not TSA approved locks and leave a note that they did a security check. If an airport staff tries to steal from you, locks won't do anything, a simple pen through the zipper will open it while you're lock just sits there looking pretty and TSA approved locks easily have universal keys available so they're useless for theft. But at least with zip ties, it'll show you someone cut them off and therefore, went through your luggage. That way you can immediately file complaint with airline/airport
