[Best Buy] Samsung 55" NU6950 $600

Best Buy Black Friday Flyer has this up. Considering a lot of people were looking at the NU7100 for $700, this is an even better deal. Rtings shows it's slightly better in some areas, but it has worse flicker.

"NU6950" - I worked at Future Shop until they closed a few years ago. Every single year we would bring in these "new" tv's around holiday time. They are an obvious tell as their model number is a little off from other 2018 models this year.

This model's MSRP is purposely grossly inflated so they can say "OH WOW $1000 OFF THIS TV". This model and other odd-numbered tv's of all manufacturers will pop up in the next month or so, and then you will never see them again. Just a heads up. I have no knowledge about this specific model of the TV.

Still a 55 smart 4k HDR is a good deal for $600! If it was the 7100 model I'd go for that.

I agree it looks like one of those unique sku's that pop up around sale time and then disappear.

Same model available at Costco USA for 399USD, so about 50CAD more without the hassle of going through the customs :)

personally I'd watch out with these lower end TV's. You usually see them at bars and restaurants. Watching anything with motion (so everything) the breaking and lag is very noticeable to me.

Minimum acceptable panel = NU7100.

Do not be fooled.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

I think i find my answer, the nu6950 model have video system atsc clear qam and local dimming like the nu7100 but the nu6900 have NTSC video system and no local dimming. nu7100 have 3 hdmi port and 1 usb port, nu6950 and nu6900 only 2 hdmi port and 1 usb port.

Thats what I find by searching the web, very hard to have detail about the nu6950 spec.

I have a 55'inch mu6300 still under warranty that will not power on, Samsung has offered to replace it with a 55'inch nu6950 and I'm not sure if this is a upgrade as promised by samsung. I can't find any customer reviews or the value of this product other than it looks very cheap made in the picture compared to my tv i paid $598 for. Any opinions if i should expect samsung replacement offer?

review of your tv here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/mu6300

The NU6950 for me is like a NU7100, they have local dimming that the NU6900 dont have. Only 2 hdmi port is the main difference with the NU7100.

review of the NU7100 here:

Its not very an updgrade...maybe the difference is the local dimming, that explain the little upgrade in the score for movies and pc monitor.
