Bonus Redemption Event (August 13-18)

They are unlikely to mark it down to sale price though

The flyer for the weekend has a Samsung tablet listed for 229 plus 10k bonus point, can't tell if it is the right one. You can check on website of the wise Canadians (not allowed to link it)

I have this tablet (64GB version) -- it isn't a 'flagship' but it's a very capable device, perfectly fine for everyday use. The sound is quite good, as is the screen.

Think it's being discontinued that's a $100.00 off list.

Staples had it the 64GB for $269.99 just after the New Year, so probably not an indication it's being discontinued

Price is still a little steep IMO.

I hate to be that broken record, but the Amazon Fire HD 10 is a better value when on sale, or from third parties.

There are eBay sellers with 99% or 100% positive feedback, selling the HD 10 (new) for as little as $157.00 CAD (Pre-Tax Ontario Equivalent). Maybe less, if you look deeper in the listings.

I am very satisfied with this tablet, to the point that I'm cautioning people against the Samsung unless they're in for a dramatic discount.

Add the OEM Fintie bluetooth keyboard case (see below), and a bluetooth mouse, and you've got a cheap laptop replacement experience.

The battery lasts all day for light media and office productivity tasks.

I'm thinking the tablet will officially go back on sale for Back to School.

Tempted. The only thing holding me back is 3 GB of Ram on an Android device in 2021.

I picked this up a few weeks ago for $230 (which, strangely, isn't showing in the price history on the triple C) which I thought was just the normal price.

I picked it up for media consumption and digital / tabletop board games but quickly returned it since even with basic tabletop games I could see the stuttering / frame drops that weren't present on my android phone.

If you want a sleek, decent screen, thin, tablet for basic web browsing and watching movies, this thing is great. We have an HD10 as well and I much preferred holding the Samsung in my hands.

Just don't expect anything near flagship performance...

I would agree it feels like 1GB too short to be the barebone minimal in my opinion even 2-3 years ago.

It's not, it's a comfortable compromise. Tablet Android is nice that way.

Metrotown / Burnaby …
Came here to post this, since I was just looking to buy one for my mother-in-law:

Costco has lowered its prices as well. (They carry only 32GB ones)

The grey one "Includes 64GB microSD card":
https://www.costco.ca/samsung-galaxy-ta ... 80696.html

Gold / Silver:
https://www.costco.ca/samsung-galaxy-ta ... 89486.html

Both list the model number as: SM-T500NZACXAC

And they state:
LIMITED TIME OFFER - Price valid until 08/26/21

I just picked up a few of these for work at $299. They work well for basic streaming and browsing. Checked today and saw they were $80 off! Even better
