You also get 1/2 months of game pass depending on the 2/4TB model.

Not exactly mind blowing, but still a decent freebie.

Absolutely true. Why do you think that there were mostly only Seagate drives left at the end of the two Amazon Prime days.

I seen $120 for the 2TB and $170 for the 4TB... Guess the deal is dead.

All hard drive experiences are anecdotal. The actual research shows that while Seagate drives fail more than say WD, it is fairly close (a few percentage points). Your chances of a drive failing from a specific brand is chance. However specific models from a company may have a higher rate of failure.

I'm still rocking a 250gb Seagate that I bought nearly 10 years ago and it still works great.

I also have Seagate drive in my NAS working 24/7 for almost 10 years and it still works but yes I remember a time when Seagate had issues but now I don’t bother with the brand anymore they are all very close in reliability but sometimes have bad batches.

Seagate drives are not all the same (grade). There are good and bad drives.

In my personal experience working with storage for a long time and as an end user, I would never use those portable drives made by Samsung or Seagate for sensitive information.

I have countless failed drives from those two brands.

In 2011 Samsung hard drive was purchased by Seagate.

Was able to get a 4TB last year at $100 tax in last Boxing day so I would suggest those who can wait to wait for BF/BD deals.

I don't know what drives are inside these Xbox drives but who's to say they aren't Barracuda Compute drives?

I have WD and seagate HDDs, prefer WD than Seagate, but I have a 2 Seagate 2TB STD2000M001 shucked from USB enclosure running for 50099 hours(5.7 years) still goes strong. They were from SDM sale at that time $60-70.

Did the sale end? I'm seeing higher prices on each.

If you can get a branded drive for cheap and expand storage on your game console or buy a few and build a nice NAS fill your boots.

However don't just buy one and start storing anything you want to KEEP on it. My $0.02.
