There is an existing thread for this one. Sale price appears extended. Has been lower in past.

Absolutely NOT the deal. It's around $250 on Amazon any day of the week.

Also, for whom ever was downvoting for the "bad product" reason: Your bias for Seagate makes you ignorant. These are [the most probably] Barracuda Pro drives - top of the class product. And - for the lucky ones - could even be the IronWolf drive - great drives for NAS and even general use and real steal at proper sale price...

Let them live life in ignorance. Better deals for the rest of us.

True, but if it went under $200 we'd all be hearing it call us to "Shuck it! Shuck it!"
Zoomer: 1 account for family and planning to leave for good in 2023
Koodo too: for a phone and locked to 24 months but was a good deal.

Yes, as max011 said, this isn't a very good price. The BF deal @ $200 was the benchmark but I had to pull the trigger on a bunch at $229 as I needed drives badly and couldn't afford to wait any longer. I would say $229 for these is the ordinary "decent" range people should aim for and of course, BF or lower is the ideal range where it's a no-brainer.

The 16 TB version of the expansion is supposed to be an Exos, enterprise grade drive too.
