Thanks for the tip! A decent deal! I'm seeing more and more reasonably priced drives lately... Makes me wonder if pricing is starting to come down, or if it's just a blip....

Also, they have a 12TB WD drive as well on sale for $280. Works out to $23.33/TB.

Can these drives by used with a phone and an OTG usb adapter to transfer files from the phone to the drive while travelling without using a laptop?

But seriously, yes it's a pretty good price. Paid $130 on sale about a month ago.

Mainly because they don't get enough power through phone port

no reason it wouldn’t work, but only to play PS4 games. You can store but not play PS5 games on external storage.

This is a 2.5" portable external drive, this is a decent price for that.

I can't get these drives, even the 2TB versions to work with my Samsung S7+ tablet though.

If you want to get it to work with your phone, you may want to try a Y connector, with an extra end for power, and connect it to a power bank.

How does this compare to ssd? Will I be able to run steam games on it? Do you think I should just wait for ssd instead?

This thread is for a portable 2.5" external hard drive which does not require a power adapter

afaik, there are no 2.5" 6TB drives available

Saves you from redownloading is about it. PS5 games can only be played from the integrated internal storage, or a Gen 4 NVME drive if you purchase and install one.
