[Best Buy] Sharp 55 inch 4k LED with Roku Smart tv 539.98$

I find this deal on the website and taught for the price is not so bad since it was 999.99 before. The 50 inch 4k is at 599.99 and you save only 100$. It was this or a vizio for me.

Hope it helps a few people that are looking for a cheap 4k tv.

Can't find any specs on this, seems like a BB special. Considering the Sharp N7000/Hisense H7 (which is higher end then this set, in terms of price point) doesn't have real HDR, I doubt this one has it either, this looks to be a N6000 series.

I ask the rep at BB about the HDR and they had no clue what kind it is(go figure).

It's actually the lower end model, the N6000: http://mashable.com/2016/01/05/sharp-hd ... 4AkQDNfgqq

At the lowest end of Sharp's 4K TV spectrum is the N6000 series. These will come in three sizes: 43-inch ($449.99), 50-inch ($599.99) and 55-inch ($749.99).

The N6000 4K TVs include just about every feature the N7000 series have minus any kind of special local dimming technology for enhanced contrast, brightness and blacks.

If we are going by that review it does say this :

Consider the 55-inch Sharp Aquos LC-55N7000U if you're looking for an inexpensive 4K TV with HDR support. But the Insignia Roku TV is a better value.

The Sharp brand in the U.S. is owned by Hisense and THIS model have Roku smart tv. Means this model and the Insignia roku NON HDR TV mention in this review are kinda the same but with HDR support in the sharp model.

I'd be really surprised if this tv has a 10 bit panel in it. It's probably just HDR support on an 8bit panel...which means it's nothing more than marketing BS

The review is very impressive on the US model you showed. So it might still be good TV, Strange that it's advertise on the box itself HDR in big on the canadian side.

Is this or the Walmart one better? The Walmart one has free shipping. But this one costs about $50.

I am in the market for a new tv, was waiting for black Friday.

Is this a good deal?

Per the specs the refresh rate is 60 Hz, I was looking into 120 Hz

I think Sharp went downhill after the Quattron marketing scheme.

Sharp doesn't even make TVs anymore. They are made by TCL or one of those companies.

Take it for what it's worth
http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-40246908
And also be reminded that accepting HDR signal is one thing and being able to display it with a significant difference compared to non HDR signal on the same set is another.
Price is not that bad (but don't set your bar too high) and I think BB extended holiday return policy is currently in effect, 55" is not that hard to squeeze in/out of a card case you wanted to take it back.

It's not HDR. The more premium TV brands should really combating this false marketing BS because uninformed consumers will think this TV is just as good as a TV that is 3x the price. It's only hurting the premium brands and screwing the consumer who thinks they're getting a great new HDR TV.
