Best Buy is selling all three colours of the Sony XB50AP earphones for $29.99. Amazon.ca is selling them for $28.00, but the black is sold out and the red is almost gone.

The Verge liked them enough to make them their cheap headphone runner-up. Head-Fi has a love/hate (now mostly hate) relationship with them, but that's Head-Fi.

They are considered unbalanced bass-head earphones by many. However, I like the Sony XB's for commuting because you can keep the volume low but still get presence in music/podcasts and avoid shrill highs. YMMV.

I picked these up at the beginning of this year for 40 bucks which was supposedly a good deal so this is even better.

These are great if you love bass, no doubt. I'm not an audiophile but you can clearly 'see' how it favors bass over other sounds. I don't mind because that's how I like it. The cord doesn't tangle but it does make sound so be wary of that.

Bottom line, I think even if you're not a bass lover, these are pretty good for 30 bucks.

How would you compare these to the Sennheiser CX300s? The Sennheisers are a little more expensive, but I don't like super bass heavy headphones so guessing the XB50s won't be a good fit for me.
