As Jon Lai also stated, the other thread is for the outlet and doesn't include the light switch

the light switch has been discussed just as many times in that thread. if anything that thread's title should be changed then, unless you think it's acceptable to have several threads on every single type of smart device that is on sale via BB/Amazon right now.

Not everyone has the time to read through an entire thread to see what people post. Unless it is in the initial post, the deal might not be known to them.

that is a good point. do you mind making separate threads for each of these deals, since it is not the initial post, the deal might not be known to them.

Thanks. Been waiting for a sale. Got few outlets for ~$10 USD but I notice the use case for outlets is limited.

Sure seems like you have lots of time.. Why don't you do them yourself.

I for one would like to thank op. Exactly what I was looking for.

2-3 of those links are bad deals anyways. I rather them not.

because i'm not the one that feels cluttering up a forum with multiple types of smart device sales from similar retailers is a good idea.

consider my post got upvoted and his got downvoted, it's more likely that more people tend to agree that we shouldn't be cluttering the forum with similar deals.

like i said before, editing the main thread to include the word outlet, switch etc would be the most helpful thing to do.

i am done replying in this thread, no point bumping a similar thread that could prevent members from seeing other unique deals.

Bump. :)

Yeah, I wouldn't have seen it in the other thread as I am not even aware the other thread is there. This thread is valid as it's a limited time sale from specific vendor. If someone wants to "steal" this info and post in the other thread, then great.

Not sure what the difference is between v1 and v2 (v2 box shows works with Alexa, v1 box doesn't).
Bought 2 of what is declared as v2 on the outside.
Installed one so far, Kasa app detects it as a v1 hardware version, so not sure where it would indicate a v2.
In any case, works with google assistant and remotely through kasa.

The annoying part about all these switches is, you can't just turn them off using the switch. Then it starts being a dumb switch rather than smart. I hope in the future these things get a little bit smarter. I can't control my reflex whenever I leave the room.
Uh, yeah, I'd like to speak to a Mr. Tabooger, first name Ollie.

Not sure I understand, how do you turn off/on the lights? With an app/Google home only?

If I toggle it off like normal, does it still continue to function in the app?
