I am tempted to stock up on these, but I already have over 30 GE Z-Switches.

Make sure you have a Z-Wave Plus hub

Me too. I am 100% Z-Wave, even the thermostat is Z-Wave and I rigged a Z-Wave Relay for the garage door.

Using Hass.io since the beginning on a Pi 3

No, you need 3 wires as a minimum. The 4th optional wire is the ground.
i did not install the ground just the neutral and black

So what do you do with the ground wire from the switch?
Do you just leave it hanging with a connector at the end so it doesn't touch anything else?

yes just leave it and you can cover it with tape or cut it so the wire is not exposed

i was only able to buy 2 of them with free mini.. i should have bought 4.. i need it for the garage
my only issue of this is it is thick and very hard to make it fit unless you trim your wires

Should keep it all Z-Wave. Technology is way better than WiFi
i liked the z-wave sale but then found out you need a hub too.

That’s the best part. You avoid the cloud and you don’t need to run multiple apps to access your devices. You just access your hub.

If you want a cheap hub, get Smart Things (not a fan), but if you like to tinker, get a Raspberry Pi and build your own

if i don't like to tinker and don't necessarily want the cheapest one, but good value for $, what is best hub out there?
