If you connect this to a PC you get basically the same results as other PC-only headsets?

I think this has been regular price since release so not really a hot deal but stock has obviously been limited. I bought one at Christmas and love it. No need for a gaming computer or dedicated gaming space and the freedom of wireless is awesome. 64 GB is plenty as well. I’ve got about a dozen games installed and I’m using half the space and you can always offload games and re-add if required.

From what I've researched, it seems to be on par with other vr headsets as long as you have the proper USB-C cable. Alternatively, you can download virtual desktop and connect your computer that way

Decisions... Would like to buy one for No Man's Sky on PC. Like the idea of the Quest if it's good enough for PC gaming, but I keep hearing that the Rift S is still a lot better if you want a premium PC experience?
That's what I wanna know as well, what are the tradeoffs going with the Quest? A quick search says it has less than half the refresh rate of the Valve Index? Of course it's like less than half the price, but isn't refresh rate really important in VR?

If all you care about is "premium PC experience", then yes. Otherwise, no.

The Oculus Rift is a powerful and capable VR headset with a library of games that can keep players busy for years without repeating any content. That is undeniable, and the resolution players get on the headset is better than the Oculus Quest and several other competitors.

However, the Oculus Quest represents something that virtual reality has been striving for since its mainstream revival in 2012: Convenience. Being able to just put on the headset and begin playing games in minutes makes it a far more enjoyable experience despite the decreased power, and the game selection is growing quickly. For fitness, it’s even more alluring. Not being bundled down by wires not only means you can game in your living room instead of your office, but also that there is less risk of accidentally tripping over a wire and hurting yourself.

Add in support for Oculus Rift games via the Oculus Link accessory and the ability to take the headset almost anywhere to play games, and the Quest becomes the clear winner. As long as Quest players have access to Rift games via a PC as well, it’s difficult to see the Rift every taking back the lead.

Overall winner: Oculus Quest

This Linus Tech Tips video covers just all that.

Back in stock again. Grabbed one. Can always return unopened or re-sell if I change my mind I figure.

Sometimes when I refresh the page, it shows in stock, not sure if it's a glitch

Can anyone recommend any specific cables for the link to PC? Apparently need an active cable... Official one seems oos or not sold in Canada. Or is virtual desktop better? Thanks
I've had my quest for a week now and it has exceeded all my expectations but seeing side by side comparisons with rift s on YouTube makes me want to try!

There's a discussion here with some links to cables/extensions.
