[Best Buy] Wemo Wi-Fi Light Switch $24.99

Best buy has the WEMO Wifi light switch on sale for 24.99 again, this seemed to be the lowest price so far except for the price error at other store before.

I understand there is no dimmer on it but can I dim it with the app or google assistant?

Do you need the wemo bridge for homekit or is it native now?

Edit: specs pages say no homekit. Bridge sells for $40 at apple.

Bridge (not included) required for this light switch. The new Wemo Outlet plugs do not require a bridge.

So pretty useless if you want voice commands with an iPhone / Apple Pod thingy.

I've had wemo smart switches for over 5 years now, over the past 6 months they have had way way too many outages and integration randomly stops working with google home. I can't say I can recommend Wemo again, have 6 including dimmers. The cheapo TP link switches I have all have worked flawlessly in the same 6 months.

At this price, if you buy a few, then then the $40 bridge is probably economical. If you're buying 1 or 2 then not so much.

I stand corrected, you do need a bridge. I was thinking of their smart plugs, which got a firmware update that allows them to function without a bridge.

Keep in mind that they've announced a new version that supports 3-way switching and has built-in HomeKit support:

Not sure when they're being released though. That said, this is a good price for the older ones and they work fine if you don't care about 3-way or HomeKit.

The Wemo plugin for Homebridge also works well... I've been using it for a while now.

This is presumably the clearance since the new models (announced at CES 2019) to replace these don't look the same...
