Might be a good deal if you're looking to pick up a controller to use with your RDR2 PC story mode deal.

Hate that it’s just the red one. Need a controller but really don’t like it. Appreciate the post though OP

If I didn't buy the white one earlier, would have definitely gotten this one

Same price from Microsoft as well. Ordered earlier along with the expansion card using some reward points.

Yes, not directly though which I may have made it sound like.

Redeem the Microsoft reward points for Microsoft gift cards and then order the controller or whatever else you would like. Just be aware that gift cards added to your account using points expire after 90 days.

I'm always wary of this as I have tons of MS Rewards points and usually do this and spend them immediately...but isn't this illegal in Canada?

I thought there was a law/act/etc where gift cards (which is what these would be no?) can't expire?

Never really thought about it till now.

How is it scalping if people are selling it for less than retail?

They may be referring to people scalping console bundles (where they may make a couple of hundred dollars on the console) with extra controllers at a loss they don’t need.

When gift cards are obtained (in Ontario at least) with reward points/loyalty points as opposed to cash, they are allowed to expire.

Agreed. When I used points to buy the Series X on launch day I just had to hope I was able to get one then or within the expiry period.

Wanted the bright Volt green colour but red's fine. Had $21 in MS credit too so nice deal.

Yup, I've been looking on Kijiji for a controller and prices vary from $40-$60 for a brand new sealed one. I'm sure you can haggle most $50 ones to $40.

I there not also a limitation on expiring pint too… if so that’s an interesting loophole.

This seems like a potential nightmare for business. They have to track reward points/gift cards/expiring gift cards. Then you have to somehow balance the expiring gift cards so that the ones that “expire” first are used first and not necessarily a FIFO which might cause complaints and class actions, all to just screw consumers out of a little bit of money.
