It's a repost of all the boxing week phone deal threads, but I think $400 is more then others are getting. You must have gotten a nice rep. What's the monthly cost for the phone? Currently it's at $20/month for 24 months.

Same. Yes it is $20 for 24 months.

It wasn't the best rep I guess as he wasn't ready to match but I insisted with a Costco receipt showing$350 gc to go to the manager and the manager was a cool guy haha.

luckily, you don't have 2 super rfd fan stalking you or else they will say ITS A REPOST! and DOWNVOTE OP TO THE OBIVILION and YOU ARE AN id*** and other bad things.

Did you trade-in for another $50 GC or is that included already?

No tradeins. Could have got that too if I had anything to give right away.

Do you mind posting your receipt. Others may get benefited by showing that as a proof.

If one decides to cancel the contract within 14 days, and return the phone, what happens to your phone number? Do they port you back to your old operator? Or do you find a phone deal beforehand, buy the new phone on contract and then return the old phone?

Usually I tell them I'll have the Best Buy Geek Squad insurance plan for ~15/month, which you can cancel after 3 months.

And they usually throw in more gift cards?

He was ready to give me deals on accessories if I enroll in that but I already got some accessories from Freedom downstairs so denied the same.

Does the cash card works in store or it is the one that you can only use online?

I put the cash card toward the phone to bring down my monthly bill. But they can be used online and in-store.

If you cancel without porting your number out it's gone.

If you port first it might make the cancellation process messy.

Don't forget it isn't just 14 days, there are usually call and data limits as well

Strictly an assumption as to the cleanest steps to return the phone:
1. Return phone within 14 days
2. Retain the sim from the current plan to use in an old phone. Assuming that you're allowed to retain the SIM after returning the phone.
3. THEN request/find a cheaper plan to switch to, from the same carrier or port out to another carrier. Do not port out until phone is returned.
