Very important part, you might get a rude awakening when you get slapped with a bill for the full inflated msrp of the phone.

Just picked up an S21 128GB from Costco, which I added to my existing $42/14GB plan.

$20/month for 2 years = $480 + $62.40 in HST
$350 in Costco GC

Total cost for the phone works out to $480-$350+$62.50 = $192.40.

I was going to buy a used Note 10 Ultra, off of a friend, for around $300 but got this instead.

Great deal that you could keep the current plan. And isn't Costco GC 250$ on s21?

I thought that it was only $250 as well but the reps gave us an extra $100 on each of the 2 phones we picked up yesterday.

Today, at Yorkdale, we picked up another S21 and they still gave us the extra $100 but we had to use it towards extras and whatever we wanted to purchase. Those cards expire at the end of the day.
When I went to pay for the cell phone, the cashier wouldn't give me my card back, even though there was a balance of less than $1 on it.
Yesterday, they just handed me the card back, with whatever remaining balance there is on it.

So, I guess YMMV depending on the location you go to.

For anyone who is wondering, if you just want to keep the phone and cancel the service immediately, the cost will be ($1400*1.15)-$400= $1210 after taxes

If you keep the service to the end, the cost for the phone is only (24*$20*1.15)-$400= $152!

The main issue is that this is a 5g phone and Fido has no 5g. So try and get this deal with Telus, and then switch to a retention plan within the first day or two.

you guys are seeing $350 gift card from Costco? Does that mean $250 in GC plus the extra $100 they give you to buy the accessory bundle?

I went to Costco and they were offering $250 gc on the$55 plan plus $10 off for 15 months. They were also adding in case, car charger, wireless earbuds, and screen protector with the phone. I asked for the$350 gc, the rep said yes and mentioned that it is a back pocket deal but took off all the accessories. I am ok because I didn't want any of the accessories except maybe the screen protector.

I'll check with him but he's one of these guys that can't be bothered and just throws the item in a drawer.
He only sold me his last one (Note 5) because I got him in the middle of a conversation with someone else bragging about all of the phones he had sitting in his drawer.

Is best buy still offering this deal? Can you use the gift cards to pay down the phone tab balance?

It was depending on the location.
At Etobicoke, they just handed us the extra $100 and they were regular gift cards and the next day, at Yorkdale, they were to be used for accessories only.
