Best Ethnic Food in Ottawa

Hey there,

Any suggestions on the best restaurants in Ottawa for getting good ethnic food? I'm pretty open to most types of food...

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, :)

If you're into Vietnamese foods, The New Mee Fung on Booth St. is one of the best.

Haveli on York? street. lunch buffet is still 10 dollars- they haven't changed the price in over 5 years at least.
not really "ethnic" but still very tasty for 10!

they also have a sunday dinner buffet wich is 17 I think, but has a chef that makes "dosas" a kind if indian crepe w either patato or chicken filling!

Also Caribean Flavour on somerset and preston.
good ceribean food, ate there 2 years ago. they have very big portions.

"Glebe Cafe"...now called Jerico on Bank st in the Glebe.
they have good middle eastern food and it is a nice, small quit restaurant.
they make their own hummus, taboule and babghanouj every day!
an order is about 3.50 wich is great for a restaurant.
it is a cool restaurant as the owner made all the decorations in it and painted the ceiling. he also painyed these glass panels and has them for sale- go there just to see his paintings at least.....

Caveau Sechewan on york st is good and resonable too.
it is a chinese/sechewan/oriental place that has a table d'hote but it is an all you can eat buffet- exept they serve you at your table.
I think its 20 for dinner, they are open for lunch but never been

Also for mexican, not "texas" stuff try Azteca!
they make all their own salsas and sauces and everything.
quite expensive for dinner (like 20 for a tiny plate of food...)
but at lunch, until 3pm they have specials for 10 dollars.
they are in the byward market on the same street as the beavertails stand, the street with the magazine shops.
-try the Azteca soup, with tortilla chips, chicken and cheese! (and only 5 dollars, very good and filling).

New mee fung is good too, been there a few times.
I've probably been to every restaurant in the city, almost....

I'm Vietnamese and my fiancee is Korean so here are the following that i recommend...good food at a reasonable price. You won't be sorry LOL

Vietnamese food:

New Mee Fung as some of the previous posters mentione

Vietnam Palace on Somerset (an upscale restaurant kinda thing, good for formal dinners or celebrations)

Pho Bo Ga LA...best noodle shop in town

Chez Nam on Booth slightly across from New Mee Fung (a staple since the 80's...warning small bowl of rice though)

Various noodle shops around the Somerset area, they are all OK in my book

May Linh (across from the Vietnam Palace)

As for some Korean food

Seoul House (Somerset near the funeral house)

Joy (O'connor and Somerset)

Arilang (off Rideau Str near Loblaws)

Kwon's chicken house (Wilbrod near Ottawa U)

Have fun chief

And may I add Arum a Korean restaurant inside the Korean grocery store. It is on Bank Street a block off the Queensway. Probably one of the more authentic ethnic restaurant in Ottawa.
