Best in flight WiFi?

I need to fly to California next month and require WiFi fast enough on board to stream YouTube. Does AC or WJ currently offer a decent speeds on any of there aircraft?

Even if the throughput was sufficient they throttle. Wifi is really only for outlook and messaging.

They also throttle and stop wifi calling.

Use a YouTube offline download extension in Firefox or Chrome. Then copy those videos to your notebook or mobile device.

If it's that important to you, consider driving to Buffalo and taking JetBlue... I believe 1 flight a day goes nonstop BUF-LAX and vice versa, if you want to avoid having to change at JFK or BOS:

Neither AC nor WS will come close to satisfying any desire to stream YouTube. In my experience, simple web pages can take a min or two or ten to load.

AC’s new satellite wifi can be decent. The slow complaints are usually from the older air to ground system. You’d have to look up what your aircraft will have.

I used Gogo before on my return flight with AC from Lis. It was $9.95/hr. There's a better rate if you buy more but I can't remember. I only used it to browse, though. You can live chat with them and ask for the pricing. In-air pricing is different.

You can download the AC app on your phone or tablet for entertainment. They have decent selection of movies and stuff.

Or maybe you can download the videos from Youtube beforehand.

The gogo wifi speeds I get are like 100-200 kbps

Ok for browsing and email, unlikely to support streaming

Use the flight as an opportunity to unplug.

Seems like Jet Blue is the only option for trans-border. The free service supports Amazon prime and the premium wifi supports Netflix and YouTube. Thanks.
