Where in Canada are you? Every municipality is different.

This

Go to your municipal website to find out what the requirements are where you live

Some cities have big trucks with mechanized pick up ... that just auto dump the entire bin
Toronto = https://www.biocycle.net/wp-content/upl ... 08/24a.jpg

So there is no human to intervene if you add a layer of plastic inside your green bin and it’s not permitted

Ya really have to know what is & isn’t allowed where you live

Our Green Bin is big enough to accommodate Leaf & Garden Waste Bags
Which go on sale often
(A lot cheaper than bags specifically made for Green Bins)

We have no issues EVER with bugs, maggots, stink or rotting mess in the bottom of our outdoor Green Bin
Worth the price IMO
If it means less clean up / stench

We still get weekly local papers and flyers, so we fold a few sheets into a paper bag and use that for the small kitchen bin. Then wrap that with a few more sheets and turn it into a waste burrito and toss that into the big bin.

Doesn't it partially defeat the purpose using energy to freeze garbage? Not to mention the extra trucks for collection & where exactly does the stuff end up? How energy efficient is this whole process? I know there are green waste to energy companies but they're not widely adopted & not sure how cost effective it ends up being after everything is taken into consideration. Sorry for the rant on the simple topic. I was really just looking for a liner for kitchen waste.
