Best high mobile data usage approach?

Toronto-based RFDer. Looking to experiment as a mobile live-streamer, so I'm willing to pay for overage speeds if it means I won't suffer reduced speeds. Not interested in a contract.

Currently on Fido's $15/3GB data-only plan, with $10/1GB overage fees.

As I am an existing Rogers postpaid mobile customer, I am thinking of switching to Rogers' Heavy Mobile Internet Plan, which is $60/5 GB and $20/10GB overage fees. I would be repurposing the SIM to use in a iPhone 11 Pro as I would like to avoid carrying another device (i.e. a hotspot) around.

A) Does my proposed plan (to take a SIM meant for a hotspot and use it in a phone instead) work? B) Can I do better?

Thank you everyone in advance.

ATT has 40 USD for 22GB North America per month. You will have a US number though.

Just get the $125 50GB plan or $95 20gb

$60 for 5gb is not good at all. Horrible

Kinda dramatic, IMO. I've seen many people paying MUCH worse than $60 for 5gb. Its not great, but its definitely not "horrible".

It's horrible. $60 for 5gb data only, no voice or text. $12/GB is highway robbery
Even if it had voice/text, it would be bad. Koodo regular in market $60 plan has 7GB, unlimited sms/mms and 500min. If you're a current customer, you can get $60 12-15GB, $75 20GB, or Quebec $65 16GB.

If you're paying more than $5/GB, you're overpaying. Ideally you should be around $1-2/GB

Where at Koodo are you seeing $125 50GB plan or $95 20gb? Are these only available to current Koodo customers? I am not one. I only see the $75 10 GB plan, and they charge $10 100 MB overage.

Thank you.

Thanks. I see them. I guess if I go over then I'll just get a new line.
