Best monitor equivalent to iMac, Retina

I'm looking for a monitor that will be just as crisp and clear or even better as the iMac or Mac external displays in the Apple Store for my MacBook. Anyone know which monitor would be the best kind to get?

What are you using it for? Budget?

Aside from iMac P3, professional grade monitors are NEC SpectraView and Eizo that cover AdobeRGB. All of them overkill if you're not calibrating them and doing colour critical work.

The best displays at Apple are the 5K iMacs that cover the P3 colour space (not all Macs cover P3).

sRGB - most consumer monitors
Apple P3 - pro wide gamut, slightly wider in the reds
Adobe RGB - pro wide gamut, slightly wider in the greens

Not sure which MacBook you have, only 2016 onward running Sierra or higher can natively push 4K 60Hz using a USB-C to USB-C. If you just want a nice 4K IPS 99% sRGB, you need to find one with USB-C like this:

Many monitors are well under 99% sRGB, I've only touched on colour, there are several variables to a good display. A table like this would be good for monitors, but I can only find notebooks, see headings:

This is super informative! Thanks! What does P3 mean exactly?

Oh wow! Thank you!

Maybe you can help me! I'm also looking for a monitor!

Something that will look beautiful like the iMac displays, but will also have decent (doesn't have to be the best) refresh rate for casual gaming (PUBG, Civ 6, etc.)

I've been looking everywhere and I've never really bought a GOOD monitor ever in my life. I think it's time.

What I'm looking for:

27" (and up) 4K or 1440p monitor, something that is comparable to the iMac screens (obviously doens't have to be 5K)
G-Sync would be nice, but not mandatory
1 billion colours

I'm a gamer and my wife is a designer/artists, so something that can cater to both our needs :)

It doesn't have to be on sale this Black Friday, but I'm looking for something I'll really love looking at!

Would you have any suggestions?

(I copied this from the thread I started, but I do'nt think anyone is going to be replying to that thread, hahah)

Sorry, someone else is going to need to help you there, I mainly edit photography and some videography, I'm not a gamer so I don't need the highest refresh rate and lowest response time.
