The best phone plan under $50??

Is Fido/Virgin/Koodo the best bet for cheaper BYOD plans less than $50? I would like to add my sister to my Rogers EPP line but turns out it's just $15 per line discount for additional lines, no corporate discount. I was quoted $55 for 5GB extra shared, or $60 for 25GB extra shared. Adding my line's price it would be $105 for 25GB, or $110 for 45GB... not hot at all.

My sister currently pays $40.50 ($45 - 10% auto payment) for 5GB (4.5GB + 0.5GB bonus) of data with Koodo prepaid. I see that Fido currently has a deal for $45 and 3GB + 5GB extra data. Maybe that's the best deal she can get right now. She could've gotten $40/10GB few weeks or months ago, but oh well. She can also get $45/25GB Shaw Mobile but that's a worse network.

My mom doesn't want to pay more than $45 per month for my sister's cell phone bill. Also my sister doesn't even use that much data, definitely nowhere in the 20GB zone.

I could also activate another EPP account with any of the big 3, but the EPP plans don't even seem hot currently. I wonder if there are any new plan offerings any time soon. Also, she doesn't need 5G as she has an iPhone 11 Pro Max and it would be BYOD.

Check out Zoomer - they usually have a 4gb plan somewhere in the $30-40 range, I think (there's usually an ongoing deal thread here on RFD as well, I'm too lazy to search for it), if that data is enough for your sister. There may also be some deals coming up for Mother's day this weekend too.

I spoke to Fido live chat and they have $10/mo credit for 12 months. Let’s see if that can be combined with the 5GB bonus data…

I was on similar boat a few months ago. Used to be on Fido $50/15 GB but after lockdown I jumped ship to Virgin and got a really good deal $35/ 4 GB. I didn't need that much data anyways now that I'm working from home. Virgin has been good so far.

I remember reading something about lucky to virgin migration. $30/4 GB. Try to go that route!

Zoomer Wireless IMHO. $40 for 5GB with 800 minutes or 4GB and unlimited calling (800 minutes is a LOT) plus 10% off for autopay so $36 per month for 5GB data.

4GB/unlimited or 5GB/800min $40 - 10% = $36
6GB $45 - 10% = $40.50
7GB $50 - 10% = $45

And they have a good referral program. I have 2 accounts and referred myself to one of them for a $50 credit on each. Then I referred someone else for another $50, along with a free phone if you stick around for 24 months (offering the Pixel 4a at the moment but if you leave in the 24 months you owe the prorated amount back at $560 / 24 months).

Zoomer is good, but they do not stop data when you hit your limit, and will charge you exorbitant overage fees.

Kood and Fido do stop data... worry free data or whatever it is called...

I'm on the bonus 1gb +3gb for 3 months for $35 deal with speakout but I'm going to grab the $40 5gb plan .. actually they are starting to get competitive now with zoomer and for those that are bringing their own phone, this may be better as it doesn't need a credit check and cuts a person off so they don't go over
