best place to buy blow in insulation

hello, looking to top up my attic insulation. is home depot the best place to go?

they have a promo where they lend the machine for the day if you buy 10 packs or more.

Yes, Home Depot is an option. Another option would be to contact an insulation company.

Try giving Tropical Insulation a call (they're located in west GTA). They re-insulated a section of my attic and topped up the other section a few years ago with cellulose. They were very reasonable.

While I agree with you that its cheap from a contractor, DIY its about $400 for a 1200 square attic

OP, Depot has the better stuff than lowes according to the bags. More R per inch. Also if you do it, get a wand from a shop vac (2.5”) and it will make your life easier.

A couple of years ago, there was an Ontario government incentive for topping up the attic insulation. I paid a company around $300 to do it after the rebate.

It looks like the only rebate available at this time is with Enbridge:
