Best time to buy appliances?

I am deal savvy when it comes to electronics and tools but have never bought new appliances before.

My wife and I have picked out a new fridge we want: Bosch $3899 is regular price.

I am weighing buying a floor model now for 3k, but it has a few scratches and is a floor model so may have been abused... unknown history.

Can I count on getting 10% off this fridge at some point? We are in no rush to buy.

Black Friday maybe?

Bottom line, if I think I can get this for ~$3500 at some point, I will hold out. If not, I may go for the floor model I’m looking at for 3k.

Thanks for any info

It’s “on sale” price is $3899......

Sorry though that was obvious. I’m not going on MSRP here.

When is the best time to buy Appliances is asked A LOT on RFD
(See the HOME & GARDEN FORUM for other threads = home-garden-f53/ )

But in the meantime here’s a few articles worth the read ...
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeown ... ances.html
https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/applia ... ppliances/
https://www.moneycrashers.com/best-time ... ppliances/

And Consumer Reports
https://www.consumerreports.org/refrige ... -the-year/

If you cannot see the last one / not a member
You can no doubt see it in print or online thru your local library’s subscription

Thanks.

Further research shows me that Best Buy, Lowe’s and Costco all had 10% off all appliances last Black Friday. Best Buy also did it for Boxing Day. Not 100% sure if they do this every year or not.

Partially answering my own thread for future people who read it.

Sounds like outside of fluke sales / individual clearance items, 10% off all appliances is one of the best deals out there.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

Last year, we bought a stove @ Lowe’s during November Black Friday Sales
(Some places they run BF Sales the whole month)

Saved several hundreds ... between it being on sale & other promos
FREE Delivery, FREE Haul Away of the old appliance
Installation would have been extra ... it’s plug & play, so we didn’t pay for installation
Also got a deal on Lowe’s Extended Warranty

Plus we did the Price Match PLUS 10% (that one alone saved me another $ 100+ )

Plus ... a bunch of other promos
Like ... Bonus Airmiles that came in 3 ways
(On the purchase, on my AMs CC, and via the AMs Annual Black Friday / Cyber Monday ... and Shop The Block Event)
FYI ... if you collect AMs Cash Miles ... then that’s essentially more CASH in your pocket

All in a very sweet deal

Would definitely do again same way if I was in need of another appliance

In this neck of the woods it is a terrible time to need an appliance.

Freezers - are just impossible. People are selling 15-20 year old chest freezers second hand for $ 300. Any new freezer is backordered with a gamble on when it will be 3 weeks or 3 months.
There are a few refurb- second hand places that are offering a 30 day warranty - but that does not appeal to me.

I had thought it would be better with Washers - but no. Any second hand washer is broken, leaking or the cycle stops midway.
To get any kind of deal - you are buying very high end and you are buying a set . Whether for kitchen appliances - Three of , or laundry Two of.

EnergyStar - impossible to get. Frost free- Nope.

I have never seen it like this.
To put something up for sale - I think you have to have it first.
A fan of RFD
